Our Charity Cup

Our Annual Charity Cup returns on Friday, 25 October 2024, to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Australia.

Now in its 30th year, Facey runs this golf tournament with sponsorship opportunities for local businesses and has helped generate sizeable donations.

This year we’ll play at Spring Valley Golf Club, a Sandbelt course, which is considered to be one of Melbourne’s finest.

Make-A-Wish Australia has brought hope to the lives of children diagnosed with critical illness and their families for over 37 years, but they can’t do it alone.

With more than 14,000 children having life-threatening illnesses in Australia, every donation counts in bringing light to this difficult time in their lives.

Make-A-Wish Australia Alumni - James Tharle

This year, we’ll have Make-A-Wish Australia alumni James Tharle, who’ll speak on his fantastic experience receiving his wish to fly in a P-51 Mustang, a WWII fighter plane.

James was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a type of bone cancer when he was 12 years old. About halfway through his treatment, he was granted his wish to ride in the P-51 Mustang, along with other WWII and WWI aircraft, a personal flyby, many gifts, a visit to the Gold Coast, videos from multiple celebrities, and other fun activities.

After completing his wish, James was inspired to get his recreational pilot’s license, which he received in 2019.
