Our Charity Cup
Our Annual Charity Cup returned on Friday, 13 October 2023, to raise funds for Make-A-Wish Australia. Facey has run a golf tournament for nearly three decades with sponsorship opportunities for local businesses and has helped generate sizeable donations. This year we played at Spring Valley Golf Club, a Sandbelt course, considered to be one of Melbourne’s finest.
Make-A-Wish Australia
Make-A-Wish Australia does incredible work bringing joy to the lives of children diagnosed with critical illness and their families, but they can’t do it alone. With more than 9,500 children having life-threatening illnesses in Australia, every donation counts. Become part of something truly special by supporting the foundation and helping them to make kids’ wishes come true.
Haidar's Wish
In April, 9-year-old Haidar, who was referred to as a brave little lion as he went through treatments for his rare heart condition, had his wish come true to meet his favourite AFL team, the Brisbane Lions.
Haidar was an honorary Lion for an entire week, taking part in the main training session – amping his teammates up and giving roaring-good match advice. Haidar took part in the mascot experience, tossing the coin to kick off the big game, and of course, he led the chant in the midst of the huddle after a big win!
